About the Product
The KUS S5U-7 is a 7" probe, 1.5" NPT-mount liquid level sender for fuel, diesel, or water tanks. It reads out on the American Standard 240-33 ohm curve, so it drops straight onto the fuel/water gauge already in your dash or panel — no new gauge, no signal converter. Body is 316 stainless steel with an NBR float and PVC-jacketed leads, rated IP65 for the wet, vibrating environment inside a van, truck, or boat tank.

Installation & Wiring
- Mounts through a 1.5" NPT tank port with a 5-hole screw pattern — hole spacing is intentionally asymmetric, so the sender only seats one way (this also fixes the lead-wire exit direction)
- Maintain a minimum 1" clearance between the tank bottom and the float retaining collar — measure inside-bottom to outside-top of the tank before ordering length
- Ground (pink) wire to common ground; signal (black) wire to your gauge's sender terminal
- Standard flathead/hex screwdriver install, no special tools

- Not the sensor we currently spec on our own wheel-well tanks (those use S5U-15 for 16" tanks and S5U-19 for 20" tanks) — this length is stocked for other builds, OEM replacements, and 1.5" NPT tanks outside the GoCode tank line.

FAQ
What does "S5U-7" mean?
S5U is KUS's 1.5" NPT sender family. The number is the probe length in inches, measured from the underside of the mounting flange to the tip of the float rod — so the S5U-7 has a 7" probe.
How do I know if 7" is the right length for my tank?
Measure from the inside bottom of the tank to the outside top (where the sender mounts). Subtract at least 1" for float clearance at the bottom. If that number lands close to 7", this is your sensor.
Will this work with my existing fuel or water gauge?
Yes, as long as your gauge reads the American Standard 240-33 ohm curve, which is the standard used across most US-market fuel and water gauges (Faria, Teleflex, VDO-American calibration, etc.). It is a direct swap for OEM senders on that curve.
Is it rated for diesel and gasoline, or just water?
All three. The 316 stainless body, NBR float, and PVC leads are rated for fuel, diesel, and water/greywater service.
Does it need its own power supply?
No. It's a passive variable resistor — it draws its (125mW) power straight through the signal wire from the gauge circuit. Just ground and signal, two wires.
