About the Product
The KUS S5U-8 is a 8" probe, 1.5" NPT liquid level sender for water, fuel, or diesel tanks. It outputs the American Standard 240-33 ohm curve, which is what most US-market water and fuel gauges read, so it pairs with any 240-33Ω gauge without a signal converter.
Inside, a magnetic float slides along a chain of reed switches. The float is the only moving part, so there is no wiper arm to wear out or corrode.

What's Included
- (1) KUS S5U-8 sending unit
Installation & Wiring
- Threads into any 1.5" NPT tank port. Use a thread sealant rated for what is in the tank.
- Turn it until the leads point toward your wire run, then snug it down. Do not overtighten.
- Leave at least 1" between the tank bottom and the float collar (0.5" on stainless or aluminum tanks). Measure from the inside bottom of the tank to the top of the port before picking a probe length.
- Pink to ground, black to the sender terminal on your gauge. Two wires, no power feed.
- You need a gauge on the 240-33Ω curve to read it. Most van builds do not have one until you add it, so check what your panel reads before ordering.
