Clean that area with isopropyl alcohol and let it dry, peel back the adhesive paper, then press the pad down firmly and smoothly. Do not stretch it. The pad has to sit flat against the tank or wrap around it, and nothing should sit on top of it, because heavy pressure damages the heating element. Ambient temperature needs to be at least 68°F for the adhesive to bond, so install before cold weather hits, not during a freeze.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWire the 36\" leads into a 120V AC circuit fed by shore power or an inverter, fused for the correct amperage, protected by a ground fault protection device, and switched through an on\/off switch.
